Variational Perturbation Theory of the Confined Hydrogen Atom
Variational perturbation theory was used to solve the Schrödinger equation for a hydrogen atom confined at the center of an impenetrable cavity. Ground state and excited state energies and expectation values calculated from the perturbation wavefunction are comparable in accuracy to results from direct numerical solution.
متن کاملA Review on Various Measures for Finding Image Complexity
The complexity of an image tells many aspects of the image content and is an important factor in the selection of source material for testing various image processing methods. Databases of pictures or videos explained with subjective evaluations constitute basic ground truth for preparing, testing, what's more, benchmarking calculations for target quality appraisal. We propose a few criteria fo...
متن کاملInvestigating Dynamical Complexity of Geomagnetic Jerks Using Various Entropy Measures
Recently, many novel concepts originated in dynamical systems or information theory have been developed, partly motivated by specific research questions linked to geosciences, and found a variety of different applications. This continuously extending toolbox of non-linear time series analysis highlights the importance of the dynamical complexity to understand the behavior of the complex Earth’s...
متن کاملHydrogen Atom-formaldehyde Reaction
where H-H-C and H-D-C are weak bonds and make a negligible contribution, leads to a value of -2 kcal. Therefore, E5-E2=1 kcal compared with the experimental value of 1.0 kcal. The preexponential factor for this pair of isotopic reactions can be calculated from the difference in the entropies of activation. Using the same loose complex as above and applying the expression derived by Bigeleisens ...
متن کاملStructure of the Hydrogen Atom
It was demonstrated recently[1] that the correct mathematical expression for the total energy H of a particle is H = mv, where m is the relativistic mass and v is the velocity; not H = mc as was widely believed. In this paper, the equation H = mv will be used to calculate the energy levels in the spectrum of the hydrogen atom. It is demonstrated that the well-known Sommerfeld-Dirac formula is s...
